Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Shoney’s, LLC (Shoney’s) is committed to providing a safe, fun environment for kids and their families on the Internet. Shoney’s collects the minimal information needed to communicate with our guests. Shoney’s encourages families to explore together online but realizes that the opportunity for kids to use the Internet unsupervised is a reality. Parents and guardians of children who visit this website can be assured that any personal information provided to this website will be collected and maintained in accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”). This privacy policy explains how the information provided by our guests is collected and used.

2. Information Collection and Use

Shoney’s collects information through registration forms on the website and through cookies and tracking IP addresses.

Shoney’s collects the child’s name, e-mail address, and birth date (including year) via the signup at the Children’s Welcome Page. The child’s e-mail address is only used to send special promotional offers on behalf of the restaurant sponsor. The child’s birthday information is used to personalize the child’s experience on the website. A child’s participation in any activity will not be conditioned on the child providing more personal information than is reasonably necessary for the activity. Personal information received from children will only be used for Shoney’s internal purposes or as set forth in this privacy policy. However, personal information provided to Shoney’s is subject to disclosure pursuant to judicial or other government subpoenas, warrants, or orders. This information will not be sold to third parties.

Shoney’s also uses cookies and tracks and collects IP addresses. Cookies are small pieces of information that a website transfers to an individual’s hard drive for record-keeping purposes. Cookies allow Shoney’s to update and improve its websites. Shoney’s uses cookies that assist in navigation when a guest returns to our website. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or indicate when a cookie is being sent. Please review your browser’s help feature for additional information. If a user’s browser is set to not accept cookies, a user may experience limited website functionality.

Shoney’s uses a web server that automatically tracks and collects IP addresses. The information collected includes the number of guest visits to the website, the web page the guest came from, and the web page the guest goes to after he or she leaves the website. Shoney’s only uses the information for internal operational purposes. Shoney’s does not extract personal information in this process nor does Shoney’s provide this information to third parties.

3. Contests

From time to time, Shoney’s may run contests on the website, in the form of a prize or giveaway. Children will not be required to submit more information than necessary to participate in the contest. Any demographic information requested is optional and does not need to be provided to participate in the contest.

Guests under 13 years of age who register in the contests will need to provide their first name and a parent’s or guardian’s e-mail address. If such a guest wins, notification is sent to the parent or guardian via the parental e-mail address gathered at the time of contest registration. Publication of names, ages or images of contest winners under 13 require verifiable parental or guardian consent. All prizes and contest winnings will be sent to the parent or guardian.

4. Parent or Guardian Access and Consent for Children under 13 years of age

Shoney’s requires and collects a parent’s or guardian’s e-mail address and requires a reply from the parent’s or guardian’s e-mail address for children under 13 years of age. Upon guest registration, the parent or guardian receives an e-mail alerting them to their child’s registration. At that time or any time thereafter, the parent or guardian may revoke the consent, refuse allowance to further pursue and collect the child’s personal information and direct Shoney’s to delete the information through the instructions posted at the Unsubscribe Link function of the website. Also, upon request, you have the right to review any personal information we may have collected concerning your child. Any guest registration received with a parent or guardian’s non-deliverable e-mail address will be instantly eliminated from the Shoney’s database. For more questions on this feel free to contact:
